RT Welcomed PM’s Visit: The Increase of Reservoir Volume of Mae Kuang Udom Thara Dam, Chiang Mai Province
Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, General Prayut Chan-o-cha visited the Increase of Resevoir Volume of Mae Kuang Udom Thara Dam, Chiang Mai at Mae Taman Floodgate. Director General of Royal Irrigation Department, Mr. Praphit Chanma, reported the project background, work progress and campaigns to promote and alleviate the affected and remotely supervise the construction. The construction managers and staff from Right Tunnelling Public Company Limited (RT) also joined the event.
The Increase of Resevoir Volume of Mae Kuang Udom Thara Dam, Chiang Mai at Mae Taman Floodgate, Large Scale Irrigation Construction Office 1 (SorPorYor 1), Royal Irrigation Department initiated the construction of the longest diversion tunnel in Thailand (47 kilometers long). The water in the amount of 160 million cubic meters was diverted through Mae Tang Diversion Tunnel to Mae Ngad Somboon Chon Dam and Mae Ngad Water Tunnel Dam to Mae Kuang Udom Thara Dam respectively as to improve the efficiency of water management in the three basins: Mae Taeng, Mae Ngud and Mae Guang, covering between Chiang Mai and Lamphun provinces.
Right Tunnelling Public Company Limited (RT) is involved in the construction project, carrying out construction projects of water tunnels and assembly buildings with other components of Mae Taeng-Mae Ngud, Contract 1. The current progress is at 97.52%.
